The NoHo Arts District
In 1995, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) established the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood. The area is now home to more than 20 live, professional theatres, art galleries, public art, professional dance studios, music recording studios, annual festivals and a variety of clothing and specialty shops. The NoHo Arts District has become one of the most noted cultural tourism destinations in Southern California and has contributed to the resurgence of the North Hollywood community. Local artists have played an important role in the resurgence of the NoHo Arts District. This video showcases three artists – Peter Shire, Ricardo Mendoza and Erin Lareau -- who contributed public artwork to the NoHo Arts District.
