This short excerpt is from a much longer (approximately
60 minute) program that included a live reading from Kazou
Ishiguro and an interview.
It was taped live at the Pacific
Design Center in West
Hollywood. It's part of a series we did called, "Readings
and Conversations" for the Lannan
Foundation. We produced
their literary video programs from 1991 to 1999 when they
were in Los Angeles. These programs were a joy to produce.
While they don't include quick cuts or a lot of flashy
effects they are thought provoking and worthwhile if you
love contemporary literature.
Kazuo Ishiguro is the author of many books including, "Remains
of the Day ." upon
which the 1993 film was based.
