This is part of a documentary about the Big Red
Cars that used to provide greater
Los Angeles with cheap, efficient mass transit. The rise
of the automobile killed the Red Cars. This was written
and produced by Dan Griggs in 1987 when he was a staff producer
for the City of Torrance, cable TV office. Some of it was
shot at the
Orange Empire
Railway Museum in Perris CA. The
likeable host is Drew Wilson. A lifelong educator, Drew traveled
to schools, putting on a one man show as, Thomas Edison.
Playing Edison he taught students about electricity, the
joy of scientific discovery and inventing. As a friend and
colleague he is sorely missed. His son is the originator
of the famed Raspberry Awards "
Razzies"
for the year's worst films.
